I received my i9300 today. I have the true life screen and the 6800. I set the desktop to none which shows just a solid blue background. Since doing that I have noticed a dark spot about 2in wide that runs from the top of the screen to the bottom right around the L on dell. If you look from an angle or move away from the screen it is really noticeable. With an image on the screen it difficult to spot, but again very noticeable on a solid dark background. Something doesn't seem right, please tell me this is not normal. Is there something I can adjust? Am I being to picky or do I have a valid complaint that I should exchange it?

It's not normal, sounds like the backlight is having a problem. As to whether or not to return it, it's within your rights, but the issue is completely personal. Most people probably wouldn't notice, but if it bugs you today, it will bug you more later. I'd probably swap it out if I were you.

I called tech support and they had me reseat the lcd, but still same problem. They gave me several options though after being on the phone for an hour and being transferred all over the place...
-send it in for an exchange, however no gurantee I would get a new system, probably a refurb based on what they said.

-return it and order another, however, 40% coupon is over...

-send it in for lcd to be replaced. I asked if they would send me the lcd to replace it myself, they will, however they said it would void the warranty if something happened when I was replacing it. My only concern is if i send it in, they won't replace it because they don't think it is a problem or won't see the problem.

hmm...the 40% coupon will come again, but lets see...i sure dont want a refurbish computer. that would suck. is the problem really noticeable? like during gameplay or something? like me, i have 2 bottom dark corners. the one next to my time and the start.

Well I called back again...Finally spoke to someone higher up and they are exchanging the unit with a brand new unit. I have thought about keeping it, but it will drive me crazy everytime I use it. It is pretty bad imo, runs the entire length of the screen and people have noticed it without even telling them about it.
