in the past few days i've been noticing that the price for the 2 ghz core 2 duo would increase and decrease with each passing day. for example: yesterday the price was 135 for the upgrade(correct me if im wrong) and now today its 225 dollars for the upgrade. is there a reason for these changes in the price? thx for your responses. :)

It's usually based on supply, if they start to run out of a certain processor they'll boost the price to encourage people to opt for the cheaper one. Sometimes it works for and sometimes against you, for instance if a lot of people are choosing the cheaper processor and they have an oversupply of the 2.0GHz then they'll drop the price of the 2.0GHz. You kind of have to time things right or wait until the price is in your range -- usually the overall system price with all included components won't vary by more than a $100 or so.
