I would call Dell and tell them what happened. It shouldn't make any kind of "click" when being opened. The lid can break or become loose. My 1st M1330 was fine at first, but then developed alot of play in the lid. At a certain point, it felt like it lost tension to keep it open. My replacements haven't had any of that.

blendin, It sounds like something in one or both hinges did not get lined up properly when the tech put it back together. I also recommend calling back into support with the case or reference number you were given for the service call to have the tech come back out. From what you describe I'm not sure if sending another LCD would be needed, but the tech definitely is.

If you feel technically inclined, and trust your skills at it, you can use the service manual for the system (support.dell.com and pick Manual, then your system from the list) and take it apart then put it back together yourself. The only reason I don't recommend that in this case is because a tech was sent out and then the problem started so be should be sent back out to "fix" it.

If nothing else, feel free to send me a PM with the case or reference number and I will be happy to set up another service for you.

If you have any questions for me, I'll be happy to answer them.

no clicks here but i dont like how the lcd/camera wires that run under the hinges that are secured by a hook as opening and closing the lid will cause a tearing action on to the wires and given time, it will cut through.
