i'm getting ready to order a vostro 1500 and i was wondering if i had to purchase any on-site service or warranty in order to be able to get a tech to come and replace a grainy screen (if i was unlucky enough to get one that is). If so, which one do i need to get?

I hope i am not unlucky either
but this is a good question -
The way I understand it, from talking with a Dell rep, is basically this: The notebook has a 21-day, "No-Questions-Asked" return policy. This means that if you get a grainy screen, you can send it back for a brand new replacement (and possibly a better screen) for free, without any restocking fees up to 21 days after purchasing.

well... from what i've read on this forum, most people that send it back get the same grainy samsung screen they had in the first place. some have even had 5 replacements before they got an lg. then there were a few other folks that had a tech come to their homes and replace the screen on-site, and these guys are for the most part, the most satisfied with their replacement screens. i would like to avoid having to continuously send it back until i was lucky enough to get a non grainy replacement.
quick question about grainy screen replacement
