I'm looking to put a 2gb stick into my 1520. I'm pretty sure the ram is 667mhz but what happens if i buy a stick that is faster at 800 mhz? Should i just stick to the 667?

Santa Rosa Notebooks like the Dell 1520 do not fully support DDR2-800. If you put 800mhz ram in your notebook It will downclock it to 667mhz. Besides DDR2-667 ram is cheaper.

Ok thx. Another thing with the 1520 being a santa rosa. When i ordered it it never said santa rosa under the processor. It is the new standard in the 1520 even if it is not listed when ordered? thx

Santa Rosa is the new platform so it consists of a new Intel Chipset (and other components like the CPU)... The computer is usually considered Santa Rosa when it has the new chipset (all 1520s do) and the new 800Mhz FSB CPUs
