I know this sounds silly but I am ready for something new from Dell...I know the XPS 1330 and 1530 are relatively new but that's all you read about! I am wanting to order a laptop but I don't want/need the XPS brand and I don't like the features of the Inspiron 1525..I am picky I know but if I have to pay for it, I want what I can get! Anyone know of anything coming out (yes I have asked this question before) and yes I know there is no crystal ball to look into, what I am wondering has anyone heard anything solid? Like the new Latitude I seen featured on here the other day? Thanks in advance!

Short of Blu-Ray drives and Penryn processing chips being integrated en masse into the current series of products I don't know of any other major refreshes planned for the near future.

Some half decent screens would be nice.

It seems that a new E-series latitude has been leaked and that it might be launched with the new Montevina platform during next May. There is a thread somewhere in the forum about this.

the XPS 1530 is just a few months old. The m1330 is older, however, and I wouldn't be surprised if if were upgraded within six months or so.

As somebody pointed out, the Latitude E-series (assuming the leak was not a mere concept design) could be out very soon and would definitely constitute something "new" and in my opinion, better looking than anything Dell currently offers.

I, for one, would really like to see more Sideshow devices from Dell.

Dell overhauled its products recently with the introduction of new Inspiron and XPS notebooks and the introduction of the Vostro line. I think they're gonna stick with this line-up for now. Most changes will be technical. Adding new CPU's and things like that. They'll do a refresh when the next big thing comes around. Maybe the XPS line will be updated again when the GeForce 9-series comes around.

there wont be anything new for a while other than the penryn mobile refresh processor, which are not worth waiting for, all you will get is more cache and may be a little less heat. I just ordered me a m1530 with t7700(crimson red), can't wait until it gets here.
