    Im new here and i just boughta e1705 and want to do a clean install, adn i figured while im at it i might as well do a clean install on my e510 czu dell programs blow, anyways is teh stickied guide, will that work for desktops as well?

    Yes, installing windows is the same process in desktops and laptops.

    wrt your E1705.... I'd recommend during your Windows reinstall that you do not delete the small Dell Utility [~40MB] partition. After you get your reinstall done, just run the MediaDirect Repair utility and that will fix your boot code so that MediaDirect will work again.

    Assuming of course that MediaDirect is something you'd like to keep....
