    refurbished battery?

    Does anyone have experience, good or bad, with refurbished Dell batteries?

    The price difference ($65 refurb. vs. $159 new) on a 9-cell I'm looking at is substantial.

    The refurb. has a 90-day warranty. Can't find warranty info on the new one.

    Seems like kind of a crapshoot. Just wondering whether anyone has gone this route and has stories to share. :)

    If it isn't directly from Dell, avoid it. Even then, I'm not a fan of such a short warranty.

    Both the new and the refurb are from Dell. Weird thing is that I can't tell what the warranty is on a NEW one. (UPDATE: just found out it's one year)

    Can you elaborate, please? :)

    Normally, the new battery comes with the new machine has 1 yr warranty.
