    refusing delivery

    Sorry for ignorant, but if i refuse delivery on a laptop, do i get to be charged anything ?

    no but it's better to call dell and tell them that u r doing it...

    is it considered a bad practice ? And does it affect me as a customer in anyway in the future ?

    i'm not quite familiar with US business.

    You can log on and cancel the order at anytime and then refuse delivery if it actually comes after that. I would think Dell would tell UPS to bring it back. There is also a 21-day return policy at Dell, so you could accept delivery and then mail it back to them and get your money back!

    if he accepts it and then returns it, isn't there a restocking fee associated with the return? i imagine bwginner wants to avoid that...

    yeah i'm talking to CSR now and they want to charge 15% restocking fee even if i refuse delivery :S
    Is there anyway to avoid restocking fee ?

    Call and talk with them. Maybe just say you are going to order another different notebook... They might allow it, they might not. Since you never opened the box afterall...

    I was told that u can return it without restocking fee for 21 days and I had the delivery refusal setup but changed my mind. They told me I wasn't going to be charged...

    The restocking fee is going to be charged, becasue you had a unit custom built and then returned for no reason (no defect).
