Called up Dell and asked for the winXP cd and they sent it to me with 2 additional cds. One is a drivers cd, the other is a application. Received it in 2 days, Dell rocks :D

I reinstalled windows, drivers and the apps I wanted but I couldnt find power dvd that was initially preloaded in the system. Does anyone know where or how I can obtain this? I checked the discs and dells website but its not on there.

You have to request it from Dell, but they shouldn't give you any hassle about it. Depending on your hardware, you might have also had Sonic MyRecord on there. If you want a copy of it, you can request it also.

Media player classic plays DVDs and is free. CDBurnerXP is good free burning software. You can probably get an OEM copy of Nero, the best burning software, on ebay for less than $10.

Sonic Media is included in the disc and its also on their website. I have an oem Nero disc and installed that instead of Sonic.

Notebook runs a tad bit quicker, I went from the initial factory 55 processes to 34. =]

I got a powerdvd cd with my 9300. I didn't ask for it. Was i not supposed to? I definitely would rather use Nero than Sonic anyday.

It depends on when you ordered it. I ordered mine in April and i got the software cds. Some time between now and then, they have stopped sending the cds. I believe it was around June/July. There policy on the cds has been changing monthly.

I didn't even reinstall Sonic. I bought Nero off the web, and it is so much better than Sonic.
