Check Dell support site under the drivers.

It should the Intel Matrix driver. -
Are you reinstalling Vista on your 1330? From what I understand, you don't need to manually install the AHCI drivers prior to installing Vista (according to a dell tech support guy, Vista automatically installs them for you).
I asked him this question because I did a clean install of Vista on my 1330 and did NOT install the AHCI drivers first and the entire install process went fine. But after reading a few posts, I was wondering why everyone was doing this initial step. It seems to only apply (again, according to the tech guy) when you install XP on a Vista machine.
I could be completely wrong... maybe some of the more technically gifted members on this forum can enlighten us here. -
Yeah, you don't need anything special if you're installing Vista.
With XP you would need it. -
I thought you needed the drivers if you were using a Vista DVD that wasn't from Dell.

I read about must install AHCI driver in sticky post about removing bloatware in this forum., if not we can get BSOD in the end of intallation... i installed a driver from my dells drivers and utilities disc.... i dont know if is it the driver... i let windows scan for me...
its went ok.... but i get texts for 1 or 2 seconds after booting dell bios.... dontknow what it said.... to fast -
AHCI (aka SATA) driver is for XP as XP doesn't recognize SATA hard disks. Vista has it integrated so you don't need it.
reinstalling m1330 now.... need ahci driver
