I'm having trouble installing a fresh copy of xp on my older 4550. It's the service pack 2 xp Cd I got with my vostro 1500 laptop about a year ago.. When I go to reinstall xp and try to delete partition to create a FRESH one, it won't delete because files are needed to reinstall xp on, I can choose however to dual boot but didn't.

    Any suggestions?

Trying to get a fresh copy as I'm giving computer to step dad so he can keep his payroll and stuff on there..

    Thanks Josh,

The vostro 1500 disk will not work on another computer.
