Do dell have to replace your laptop with equal or better?

I ask because i was offered a m1730 straight replacement but with a 8700 card rather than a 8800 which i have in my machine. They said the card would be replaced at a later date. Does that count as an equal exchange?

The replacement laptop should be equal to the current specs of what you have..If not available (currently), the replacement would be of the next grade or better.

Good luck with the equal or better, im on my third system trying to get an equal or better and they keep sending me lesser and lesser specs.

I went from a M6400 that fraud department cancelled for no aparent reason,
to a 1737 with wxga+ led instead of wuxga, to a 1737 with wxga ccfl and integrated video. I'm afraid when I complain again they are just going to send me a dell mini, lol.

Keep on them - remind them of what your warranty states. Are you working with Dell tech support on this? Maybe another department like Dell Cares or whatever could help.

The last two were created since getting the Dell escalation team involved... They are VERY LITTLE help. Basically just call and tell you it will be 3-5days and the world will be perfect dont worry about it.

I sent another email to the escalation team yesterday morning, because my third system was cancelled and I was never contacted. This time telling them if I was not able to reach someone that could help me I would be have no choice but to seek assistance from my attorney general and the BBB.

I got a return call in less then two hours, had an acceptable system in pre-production 2 hours later and an actual phone number/extension I could call with questions. It's unfortunate that I had to resort to threatening to get a response but it wasn't an idle threat.

Even though I'm happy with my replacement system, I am not sure I would purchase a dell machine for a long while... Actually I have a m1330 with nvidia card that is acting funny and I'm REALLY DREADING contacting support.

    Three words: Small Claims Court

Dell is jerking you around; I'm pretty sure a judge would agree that going through exchange after exchange after exchange is unreasonable regardless of what the warranty ToC's state.

Agree with above, normal dell hell for a M1730 GPU issue.

I am also going through exhcange issues after Inhome care technicians fouled up the replacement parts installation. Is it really that hard, really...? lol

Anyway, on 2nd order for exchange only to find out Blu-Ray has been replaced with DVD-RW. Other components have been upgraded, but I do have a growing Blu-ray collection that I watch on my computer.

Am I nit-picking at this point? I plan on swapping drives out when (if) new system arrives.
