with so much dell bashing going around so many forums i thought it would be interesting to bring the people who are actually happy with the deal dell gave them and also by the system they have received. any other pleasant "dell experience" is also welcomed..

    1420 - Espresso Brown

Good points: it works. its small. i've had no issues with Vista. Games run fine on it. Oblivion, Half Life 2. Got a mini remote. Movies look nice. Dont' see any graininess. No massive headphone issue. No crazy whine.

I've had my 1420 for 6 days and the honeymoon still isn't over. The display is brilliant and vivid and the machine runs very smoothly with all the tasks I need it for. I'm even enjoying the Vista experience :)

Ha ha. It used to be Bob_Loblaw. I met a guy like 10 years ago named Robert Loblaw (my name's not Bob). I laughed and said "So people call you Bob Loblaw?!, that's hilarious!" He wasn't impressed and insisted he be addressed as Robert. After that I started using Bob_Lawblaw as my internet handle here and there. Before too long I started seeing other Bob_Lawblaw/Loblaws' popping up and was not alway able to grab that handle whenever I joined a new forum/game/chat whatever. I figured it best to simplify the name and use the name Bob_Blawblaw.

Though I don't have much experience with laptops, I really like my 1520. The issues that I have are extremely minor. (Headphone noise, and won't wake up after sleep)

I´m totally satisfied with my 1720.

It isn´t perfect, but seeing the competition that is 500/600 euros more, it really is a great deal.

By the way, how's the Espresso Brown? I ordered a 1420 with that color.

I did. I love it. It's gorgeous. The graininess is apparent if you look for it but it honestly doesn't bother me one little bit. My windows and firefox themes are all dark colours anyway so it's not usually noticeable.

I received my Vostro 1500 yesterday and I love it. For all the complaints i've read on this forum, my laptop screen is gorgeous no grainy look, no high pitch noises while using headphones. It looks snazzy, I have no complaints and it looks sweet. A fantastic buy at $599. :D

apparently that was the first thing i tried to figure out with my screen. but then i realised it was more of a paranoia than anything, coz i've been frequenting such posts here. its an awesome display. i notice the pixels only wen i poke my nose too close to the screen.. :D

I jumped on the chance to get an m1210 while Dell was clearing them out for the m1330. I don't mind being a generation behind, because it kills my previous model. I absolutely love it.

Just got my 1520 yesterday...quite satisfied for the price I paid for it. It's actually really not that heavy-at least compared to my old notebook (6 cell battery). Screen graininess isn't that bad at all and the display looks nice overall.
