    Degrading resolution on 1440x900 screen to 1280x800 (vostro 1400)... is it painless and will the picture be the same as it would be on 1280x800 screen?

    I want to know cause if I buy 1440x900 screen I would want to downgrade resolution to improve my game performance...

    so pls vostro users and xperts, adviceeeees! :rolleyes:

    Hi man, about 2 weeks ago i started the same thread as we both r in the same situation. Basically the 1440x900 screen will display 1280x900 but not as good as a screen at is nativelymade to display 1280x900. Its not a huge difference anyway.

    You can adjust the settings to scale instead of stretch. What that will do is project 1280x900 as if it were native resolution, but add huge black bars to the left and right. No degrading at all.
