I'm thinking about sending back the replacement that I got, and keeping the original one. This is not a final decision, but I"m wondering if you guys would think it possible.

    thanks

also - quick q for those who know
what are the con's of RMcLock?

I've seen it happen before with Dell desktop support four or five years ago. We'd sometimes fix a broken system, and we'd return the replacement, since the original was already serial numbered and in the purchasing system. Most of the laptop companies I deal with today will let you return cross shipped parts if it turns out the original is okay. Not sure about the whole laptop, though.

Dells policy is...so long as you return one complete system. In theory, you can call them and tell them the replacement stinks and you will keep the original awaiting an acceptable replacement. They will then send you another replacement.

That's pretty much been my experience. If it's a one for one trade most companies are fine with it.

alright. I didn't even do that actually lol. i compared the two and figured the one i have is better. the oNly issue is that the hard drive is kinda louder than the others. I was wondering if this would mean worse performance. I don't mind the sound I just hope my hdd doesn't die on me. My first 1330 - they sent me another replacement hdd and it was a refurb- don't really want to get a refurb for this situation. Should i call them about it?

There is usually a big red or yellow refurbished sticker on the box/packaging.

Calling them about it would probably be a good idea.
