    Hi everyone,
As it seems more & more likely that the new Penryns to be released in a couple of months won't go into it I think I'll be returning my vostro 1700. I configured it to be top of the line and was hoping to upgrade to the new cpu and even though no one promised that it would be possible, I kind of feel disappointed that it won't. I think I can survive with my current notebook for a couple more months (assuming they come out in Jan 08). Penryns are quite different in terms of cache, power, virtualization etc. that I think it'll be worth the wait.
I really don't want to spend $1800 and don't have an option to use a completely new cpu architecture for the next two years.
