    Hello,

My laptop screen has been tinted red for the last month or so ever since I had to replace the hinge on my Dell Inspiron 6000. Yesterday my screen started to just turn off on it's own, but would turn back on after I closed and reopened my laptop screen. However this has only worked a few times. Now my laptop LCD doesn't even turn on at all and I have to hook up an external monitor to it.

Before I buy a new LCD replacement I just wanted to make sure the problem is actually the LCD screen itself, and not just a problem with the connector ribbon or something else.

Does this sound like a problem with the LCD screen? Or could it just be the connector? My laptop's almost 3 years old now.

    Thanks
