I own an XPS M1530 with a WXGA+ screen. My wife has a Studio 15 with a WXGA TL (CCFL) screen.

Why does dust seem to stick to the screen much more and faster on the Studio than on my XPS?

we use both laptops on the same environment... has the screen type have something to do with this?

Is one of them a glossy and the other a matte?
I notices more dust on a glossy screen then I do a matte screen.

    The image is broken.

The Studio is glossy, and I assume the XPS is also (WXGA+ TrueLife LCD).

A TOUCH of water, and a microfiber cloth . . . my glossy screen has its sexy pants back on. Rock on.

anyway, I wasn't asking how to clean it, I was wondering if there is anything wrong with the Studio screen, or if it's normal for the dust to stick so much...

As the screen is newer, I would say, no, its not. My screen is also a dust / fingerprint magnet. I basically make sure the lid is closed when I am not using it to keep the buildup tolerable.

Maybe its time to get out the duster and the vacuum and hit that living room . . .
