I don't know if anyone else have this trouble, but when i unplugged my ac adapter from my laptop, the whole screen went dark. Any reasons?

E1505 with Omega drivers?
-
yuppers
-
wait... is that the problem?
-
So did I choose the wrong version of the OMEGA driver? Which should I be looking for in particular.
Thanks! -
I gave up on them and installed the X1400 drivers from Dell.

Does your screen shut off or is it just less bright. When you unplug the adapter it gets darker to conserve battery power -
Most laptops today have ACPI controls that turn down the brightness of your screen when switching from AC to battery power.
If you mean "dark" as in the brightness going down but you can still see the objects on screen, then you should be able to just pump up the brightness settings manually.
The default brightness settings for both AC/Battery can be found in the system BIOS. -
No, this happened to me too.
It's not the dimming of going from AC to battery, it goes black. -
count schemula -
are you still getting the problem while using the dell drivers? or do you believe it was caused by the omega drivers? thanks. -
I don't get the screen going to black problem anymore with the Dell drivers.
When driving an external monitor, my main LCD still flickers for about 1 second every so often, but this happens much less with the Dell drivers than with the Omega drivers, like once every 2 hours, compared to once every 20 minutes or so.
Games play just as good, maybe even better with the Dell driver, but I play old games (BF1942, GTR, Civ). -
I could only find the link to the IGMA drivers, can you send me a link to the ATi driver from dell? thanks.
-
I went to support.dell.com and could find all the graphics drivers for the E1505.
ATI Mobility Catalyst at Dell
It's dated 7/13/2006, so could be based on Catalyst 6.8
If you want 6.12, go directly to this link at AMD
Mobility Catalyst 6.12 -
thank you very much!
seems like im running into a lot of minor problems (monitor related)
