Hello, about two weeks ago I bought a new HDD. Everything went fine, I installed Vista an XP. I didn't install mediadirect because I never use it so it's only a waste of space. Now I was cleaning my notebook and presses accidentaly the Media Direct button on my laptop. Now I get a message saying "ntldr is missing" press any key ro restart... I Booted from my Ubuntu live CD and saw that all my partitions in the explorer were there except my Vista partition. I booted from my Vista cd and tried to reinstall to see which partitions it recognises. There I can see my Vista partition, saying it's completely empty and when I try to install it on there, I get an error. Can please someone help me? I really don't want to lose the data on my Vista partition.

    Already thanks!

That's weird. The above suggestions sound good....I'd try the GParted LiveCD. It's worth downloading for future use at any rate. With that, you can check all your partitions clearly. So, you can't mount the Windows partition from Ubuntu? Tried pressing the MD button again? I don't think just hitting that button would wipe your Vista partition, even though it could screw with your boot (try above suggestions for that). :)

    BTW, nice user name. ;)
