    hi all,

I am new to the forum but have been reading for awhile now. I am planning on buying a inspiron 8600 for $1435 after taxes and shipping. Is this a good dell? here is the major configuration:

    1.6ghz pentium M
    15.4 wsxga+
    256mb sdram
    40gb hd
    4X dvd+r

That seems rather expensive for that notebook. I ordered a Inspiron 9100 for $1224

Keep on eye on www.gotapex.com for good Dell deals and coupon codes.

the system total was $1628 - $150 instant coupon - free shipping + tax and finally $150 mail in rebate. I thought this was a pretty good deal but I guess it is not since you are say it is kinfa expensive.

Any more responses to this topic would appreciated. just trying to guage the prices I would get for this system.

have you applied the coupon code on that configuration? there's almost always a coupon code available, we always feature them on this site. that does seem a tad pricey...but the warranty is part of boosting that price and I don't think archer75 could have gotten the 9100 with a warranty at the price he mentioned.
