With the M1330 sale going on right now with $799 off and 3 year warranty, i am tempted to order one. But i have herd so many horror stories about dell, but i have also herd good things. Should i take a chance with dell or go with something like a sony SZ680 that has a better reputation, but a 1 year warranty. At the same price the dell certainly comes better equipped. $1400 price range. I want something that is reliable too..

XPS notebooks are pretty reliable. But as far as the construction goes for the notebook, it lacks in several areas.

one more thing, think it is worth the $150 for the LED screen, and how encumbering is the 9 cell battery, does it stick out to much?

upgrade the LED, and get the battery separately if you find the 6 cell is too much - otherwise you'll just forego the portability
