if the screen just looks washed out, but is still perfectly usable otherwise, then keep the notebook. and you really shouldn't be worrying about the plastic, i wouldn't send a notebook back for something as little as that. unless a bigger problem rises, keep the notebook for now.

I would send that back. I just ordered a XPS M1530 and if it comes to me with only one of those to problems I am sending it back to replace. I like my stuff to be nice.

I'd send it back if the screen looked anything but what it should look like (assuming I know :D) and if the plastic was cracked... well... F that.

well the screen is the NEC .. the colors just arent as vibrant as the monitor on my old laptop. its bright enough though. and i snapped the plastic back into place so u cant see it.

also this screen had a stuck pixel when it arived untill i "messaged" it out.

You can change the color settings using the nvidia control pannel. Mess around getting it to look right to your eyes.

If the screen is the only major problem, dont send it back...just have them come out and replace it.

I dont know what you mean about the plastic at all

But I will say this, you didn't pay over $1000 for a subpar quality machine. If you don't like anything about it, COMPLAIN UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED!

    Hope that helps somewhat

If you don't feel comfortable with your purchase send it back. Tell them your findings otherwise you might get tacked with restocking fee. The only thing is that you have to pay for shipping it back. Take pictures of the laptop before sending it back so if they have a dispute with you you have proof.

If your notebook is in that shape (the plastic being broken), if you are within the 21 day return period you can return the system or you can get warranty service and we can replace the affected parts. As for the LCD I'm not sure what you mean by "wash out" Are the colors brighter then your used to? If so it might be due to the display being glossy or Truelife (as dell calls it). If you want you can email or PM me and we can discuss options (its in my signature), just make sure you mention my name in the email.

You have spent lots of money . Lets think of it this way, if you go to the store would you buy this laptop when you see these problems?

    Please Return it.
