so i was thinking of calling dell to ask for help, but i thought eh why not ask here first, this forum is just as helpful.

anyways, so since i received my Dell Latitude D630 on Sept. 7, i have been using nothing but AC power. i ordered the 9 cell, and i have left the 9 cell attached to the laptop at all times. so last night it was fine, at 100% as it should be, running away on AC power. i shut it down as usual, switching off the wireless in the process.

this morning i turn it on, again on AC power, and it tells me my battery is at 96%. what the heck?!?!? how could it have lost battery power when i didnt even use the battery at all last night? or any time before then.

when i shut down the laptop, i always make sure it completely shuts down before pulling the AC cord. and yes i completely shut it down, i do not put it on stand by or hibernate it over night.

Batteries lose power over time, simply put - I thought you were gonna say 80% drop overnight; that would be nearer normal - don't get a boner over it.

you need to take it off of ac once and a while and fully use the battery. like stretching your legs after a long plane ride...
