    slot load dvd drive issue

    Hi guys
    I seem to be having problems with the slot load drive of my studio 15.

    It seems to get stuck and make clicking sounds when I insert some dvds and they are not played while some play just fine.

    Also, writing dvds is also a problem as many a times, I am faced with I/O error using imgburn.

    ALso, I am unable to upgrade firmware as the utility just shows the caution message and remains stuck.Any directions will be helpful

    I am using win 7 x64 bundled with the notebook.

    Are you still under warranty? You should call up Dell and tell them you're having these problems... they should almost certainly send you a replacement drive. How old is the machine and did these problems always happen or did they start happening recently?
