    slower start up and shut down

    i have a v1500 on vista. when i first got it it seemed to start and shutdown faster then a few weeks later. why is this and what can i do to make it faster. specs. in sig.

    I'm thinking you may have programs that you don't need to load loading on startup, causing the comp to take longer. You can manually make these programs not do this (for most programs, go to their menu and they will have a "boot on startup y/n" option) or use registry software or msconfig in the run menu to modify your startup list.

    A defrag might help too, though I'm not too sure.

    Also, for general performance boosts, try running adaware or spybot to get rid of junk programs that slow your comp down.
