can someone please explain this for me.
i have "allways on" in the energyschedule
if i right click on "my computer" it shows 2.0 ghz (i have a T7200 2.0ghz, so thats ok)
but when i check in Everest CPUID it show 998mhz ??
why ????
i thought (of course) when i have "allways on" it use maxium cpu, (2.0ghz..... like "my computer" shows). it should do.

My best guess would be it's running 1GHz on each core.
-
I don't know everest myself, does it just monitor or run tests? If it's just monitoring the cpu my guess that it's running in idle mode.
-
ya, its in idol, the multiplyer is at 6x row, and the max is 12x
-
its 2ghz each core you know (dual core )
i thought (i knew), if "allways on" was enable, my cpu should use maxium all time...(like "my computer" also shows)
-
aha....now i understand...he he. on the last image its use 12X multiplier, (on the second 6X multiplier). so you mean when i have "allways on" enable, its actaully run in 2.0ghz but with half multiplier (or something)...."my computer" who shows 2.0ghz is true then......or ? -
Have you tried other benchmarking apps?
-
edit. i tested to change the energyschedule to maxium performance//batteryrun//laptop//............ Everest CPUID showed the same thing on all energy-features.................maybe Everest CPUID cant "see" when i change my energy-features in Windows ????? -
Last I checked, power settings in Windows XP only affect monitor power-states.
You'd need something like NHC to force your CPU to run at 100% clock speed all the time. -
The CPU will automatically switch to full speed when processing power is really needed (When running CPU intensive applications or games). CPU throttling is handled by Windows, and it works pretty well. You won’t gain anything by forcing it to run always run at full speed; that’ll only cause unnecessary heat and battery drain (if you run on battery).
If you still need to do it, then SpeedswitchXP will help, there are many more like NHC as the previous poster pointed out.
someone understand this ?
