i cant select things by tapping

i can only move the mouse pointer.

usually, on the touch pad thing in the rask manager, when you use the touch pad, a blue shape appears (something to do with the pressure?) well mine doesn't.

this means that i need to use the hard buttons underneath.

    ***UPDATE***

a re-boot sorted this out, but any ideas why this happened/how to avoid it happening again?

Sometimes your computer just needs a reboot if it gets "confused". Shouldn't happen too often--if it does, you probably have some sort of conflict going on. If it happens regularly, try to determine if something you're doing or one of the programs you're running is causing it.

Also, you can play with the settings for the trackpad.

if this problem comes again the best option is to increse the virtual memory of the system : the Inital Shd Be: 4048 and the Max: 7048...will resolve the problem.. and as "DORDALE" said somtimes the PC get's confused so it's better to increse the VIRTUAL MEMORY
