The Sonic DVD/CD programme quit working, it won't open. I keep getting the messages below. How can I correct this? When I find 'BMPLE.MSI' I'm told it isn't valid.

I don't have a Sonic disc, just the discs that came with the computer. I can find the mentioned .msi file, but as I said, it is not valid.

Not sure what type of notebook you have. I have a Toshiba Satellite M45. My copy of Sonic RecordNow is on my recovery/driver DVD.

I did find a thread at roxio that mentions this error. It also may have a link to a patch at the bottom of that page.

    Good Luck!

    Daniel, thanks.

I did contact Dell and was given pretty much of a runaround. But finally the chap said that he would see what he could do. I didn't expect much! But yesterday I received a disk from Dell - Roxio Creator plus - by Sonic, of course. Removed Sonic, installed Roxio and it works like a charm. Looks and works the same as Sonic, just a different name at the top.

I've always had a bit of a problem getting Sonic to open, even with the patches, but no problem with the Roxio.

Thanks again for your interest and help.
