Hi everybody!! first off i would like to thank everyone on these forums for helping me decide which laptop to buy. I just purchased a Dell inspiron 9400 and i cant wait to get it. But i have a question about hooking up the audio to a television is there a better way to do it than just getting an adapter from the headphone jack to the red and white inputs on my tv?? Or is that the only way to get audio out without a dedicated sound card?? Can you even get a sound card on a laptop?? TIA

    1. going from the headphone out is fine

    2. yes, you can get dedicated sound cards for notebooks

    3. you should test it out with the headphone out jack before dropping money on a dedicated sound card to see if it's satisfactory for you
