I got the Soundblaster Audigy Advanced MB software installed on my laptop and for some reason, my mic doesn't work. Does anyone know a solution? thanks a lot.

btw I'm running on Vista Home Premium.

hi fellow BMW fan :), if i'm correct, vista does not support the creative audigy sound card as vista has new audio API stack. i'm not sure if creative has issued vista driver for the SB audigy series though...

    good luck

    thanks a lot wobble,

it's just the software I installed on my M1210. It's not an actual sound card.

I uninstalled the software and yet the mic is still not functioning properly.

    thanks again wobble.

glad i can help. i would like to add that; i'm sure creative is working on a new driver, but i'm not sure if the card will work like it would in xp, as vista completly change the audio stack, making it more secure but less exploitable.

How come this Audigy option is never available in Canada? Is it really THAT good that Dell ask for $25 for it?

Is the mic muted in the control panel?

exact same thing happened to me after I uninstalled the sound blaster thing. Go to control panel --> system --> hardware --> device manager --> open the sound devices menu then uninstall the driver for the quickcam for dell notebooks mic

Restart your system. The mic will be reinstalled automatically and it'll work again.
