I first noticed when i got my laptop and forgot to mention it until now when i noticed it again that when i turn up the volume on my i6000 it causes the left shift, ctrl, fn, and z keys to buzz and its particularly annoying. anyone else experience this?

My E1705 has a rattle/buzz, but it seems to be coming from the right side. I've heard you can tighten the screws on the speakers and that might clear it up.

i noticed that on my system today... the base of my notebook vibrates a bit. I don't know if there is anything to fix it. You might try tightening your screws. You might check to see how high your volume is. Remember this is a notebook, not a surround sound system. You could also get an external set of speakers if you are going to be somewhat stationary.

Headphones work real swell too.

yeah it's only when the volume is all the way up. I just use headphones now so there's no problem. The problem however, was the speaker being so loud that the keys would buzz so if i turn it up, i just have my suede keyboard cover over it since i'm docked with a keyboard and mouse and such.

it could have been your subwoofer. Dell has it located in a bad spot.

its an i6000 so it cant be, i might try tightening the speakers tho, eventually.

I am having the same problem. Has anyone tried tightening the speakers, and has it helped? Also, how do you go about tightening the speakers.
-
No one??? I looked at the dell manual and it looks like it takes a considerable amount of disassembly to get to where the speaker screws are.

My E1705 has a rattle, but it seems to eminate from the back left corner of the laptop. It usually only happens at higher volumes, although not nearly max, but sometimes also occurs at lower volumes if the audio quality is bad. What concerns me most is that it's coming from the rear of the laptop, far from the speakers and subwoofer, so what's rattling?

I just noticed the buzz sound on my 1710
speaker rattle
