spring green 1420 in testing

Well its been a day of ups and downs... First this morning I had a voicemail my order was delayed to 8/24 only thing was it wasn't my order #!! So I called and they said no everything looks good for the 8/22 ship date must have been an incorrect call "we really apologize for that..."(boy dell is really having some problems these days!!) Then I called the order status number and sure enough my laptop had moved off the build stage to the testing stage!! Now I don't know if it'll ship by Wednesday, but at least I'm off that never ending build stage...

IUCandi I know your waiting on a spring green lappy, I'm hoping you must be at least at that stage or ready to ship since you've been waiting much longer than me...

Congratulations. It's nice to see reports of Spring Greens moving out of build. I'm waiting on a green 1520, myself, and I'm dreading another delay. I've been keeping my fingers crossed for all of us Spring Green-ers out there.

congrats! did you order the wireless-n card? According to the dell build page, it is on an 8 day delay, but if you ordered it and your order is in boxing now I will be very excited for my order.

 

Congrats. Maybe there is hope for the rest of us Spring Greener's. I still have a Build status. I wonder when is a good time to call and check on status. I have seen somewhere that it said after 6pm.

LUCKY!!! + rep for you for being so lucky and hopefully you can pass some of that luck to me Anyways, I just spoke with someone today who told me that my computer is no where ready to being shipped out tomorrow, the next day, or even the day there after! Grr. I see that there are a few specs on your lappy that are diff from mine. I didn't get the anti-glare screen and my Hard drive is 7200RPM. Other than that, we have identical laptops... So i'm hoping maybe mine will get to me soon. Again, you are SOOOOOOO LUCKY!!!

EDIT: and I also ordered the wireless N card, which I just noticed you said you didn't. regardless you are a lucky brat hehe

 

yeah, I have to admit, I was thinkin' at least another week, so yes I'm feelin' pretty lucky. I'm now in the boxing stage, hopefully shipping by the end of the day... after all it can't take to long to box a lappy now can it?? I guess it just isn't the color that is causing your delays...sorry to hear but here's hoping some of my luck goes your way!

 

Has it gone into shipping yet? And it looks like all of the 1420 spring greeners have moved out of build stage and are getting their lappies soon, according to the "who has waited the longest" thread. YAY, GOOD JOB FOR BEING SUCH TROOPERS EVERYONE!

 

Yes can u believe it my 1420 spring green is being shipped should arrive tommorrow . But get this after being in boxing since Monday, I get an email this afternoon saying my order is being delayed till 8/29!!! So I flip out get on the phone and call, of course I get India and I say how can it be delayed its been built, tested and is in boxing. So I get on hold of course and they come back and say well its due to the color and parts are back-ordered! So I explain again, the status line has told me its been built, tested, and is in boxing!! How could it have been built and tested and put in boxing with the colored lid!! So after a second or third time on hold they do a complete 360 and tell me its been shipped, some kind of problem with there status tracking software, etc... ?Sure enough a couple hours later I get the shipped email with tracking # ... Wow how messed up and totally incomptent is that!!
I won't believe it till I'm opening the box at this point!!

 

You made my heart sink a little saying you'd been delayed! Did you calling correct things or you just panicked hehe? But you'd have every right to after such a long wait! Those estimated dates are so random, just extended to a farther date to make sure it'll get out somewhere in between. Well, be sure to tell us great things (or bad) about your SPRING GREEEENN lappy!

 

i think dell knows that they will have to extend the dates before they give you the first date, then they extend it a litle bit more so you can take your disapointment in increments. its a tactic so that they can keep you latched onto the product until the bitter end!

If you want to see what day you're order is going to ship, more than likely it will probably be tomorrow or the next day since Dell has 2 flights going out to Nashville.
