    spyware in taskbar

    I've annoying spyware in the taskbar popping up windows trying to sell me their software. how can I get rid of it?

    machine runs on xp.

    How about right clicking on it and seeing if you can close it. Go into MSCONFIG and turn it off if it is turning on with Windows.

    Download Spybot Search and Destroy it should take care of it

    Try deactivating it with Windows Defender it's easy and quick.
