i have a toshiba here to compare it to .. we oen many toshibas for business use.. anyway the newest one we bought was a el cheapo 400$ after rebates dual core t2080... i have to say i have not ran actualy teste yet but when comparing things like installation, photoshop etc... the t2080 seems to blow the t7500 away ... is this even possible.... just doesnt make sense to me.. the t2080 switches screens and opens program etc much faster it seems also.. could be in my head i guess when i get home tonight ill run some tests to see.. im SURE the t7500 has to be faster but maybe at only certain tasks??? not sure yet we will soon see

Hope not I would be pissed. But, maby operating systems are different? Did you get vostro with XP or Vista. Vista eats memory so it might even be the cause.

There could be issues with drivers, with a different OS, with bloatware. Also, RAM and HDD configurations can really impact performance as well.
