    hello

does anyone understand how its possible that i suddenley get 500 points lower in 3dmark06 ?????

i use 1.24 Volt 600/800 go7900gs (have use that settings a year now, and everything works perfect) but today i run a 3dmark06 1.01 and got 500 points lower.....

last time i run a 3dmark06 i think it was a different version, can that be the reason why i get 500 points lower ???

i feel nothing strange when i play games, i use the same AA, shadows, resolution, etc, like i did one year ago.

here is my "old" scores... and now i get 5000 with exactley the same settings.

Benchmarking doesn't state actual performance; its more like an estimate. As far as why you got lower scores, it could be because of the version, drivers, running apps or a number of things, but the best thing to go by will always be the actual in game results.

Sod 3DMark06 and just go for in game frames per second and results.
My 3DMark06 score fell my about 30 over the period of 2 weeks, when I hadnt even done anything to the system!! lol
I just judge my performance by using FRAPs etc in game. Thats where it counts anyways.

There is a newer driver being released for my system very soon, which increases performance a huge amount in games - but it actually lowers the 3DMark06 score!

Check the power settings of your laptop. Usually people have it in balanced mode instead of performance.

I also had a 3dmark06 drop (about 200), but the performance in UT3 and crysis was much better (UT3 max @ 1440x900 30fps+, crysis all medium 25fps+) 169.09

As said before, 3dmark is a tool, but its not as accurate as actually playing with fraps or rivatuner (which also shows gpu temp!) in the corner
