i had a technician visit me over for a small fix up on my 1520. he did a nice job and replaced everything carefully. however since then i have started to notice a small chirpy noise emanating from my laptop. it occurs at regular intervals and appears to be coming from somewhere around the fan.
its nothing disturbing, yet i would not want it around.
    any solution guys?
    btw i am using xp

My m1330 makes a weird clipping sound every now and then too. Can't figure out what it is either. It comes from the left hand side. It will be quiet for like 30+ minutes then at some random moment it will make a "clip" sound like something got caught in the fan for a split second. then it will be silent again.

But man do i love my baby *stroke*

My 1520 has clicking noise, but after reading a tons of posts about this, it seems that it is "normal". It is a sound of the HD going into a kind of sleep mode.

Do you have a Samsung drive?

I've gotten it too....... It may or may not be the HDD because I changed it out and got the same noise...... And as for a sleep mode, It'll make the noise also during shutdown so that doesn't really explain stuff........

The clicking noise is from the heads on the harddrive locking, so if it was dropped - no damage happens. Data is more important then a computer.
