hello all, i have a quick question. i have been playing wow on my studio 15 and i have been getting around 18-25 fps. is this normal? (its a little tiny bit jerky but nothing big) but the good news is that the loading screens dont take forever anymore :) . just would like to know if this type of fps is normal. and what can i do to possibly improve the fps. (without giving up terrain distance at least) Thanks all who reply. oh yea and i forgot to mention. the spec for my studio 15 is all maxxed

You maxed out the graphics, or your specs are maxed out?

Are you using the integrated graphics, or the ATI card?

It becomes difficult to answer such questions if you dont post your system specs.

Try reducing the games graphics settings then . . . set them all to medium or low and see if that improves the frame rate at all. That is a high resolution to play with on that weak little card.

I'm not familiar with both WoW and the HD3450 (e.g. I haven't tested this game on this graphics card), but I consider you're FPS rather low for a game that has been around for a few years.

Yes your FPS is way low for a newer computer like that. I was using my E1705 with an ATI Mobility x1400 and getting around 30 FPS on medium to high end settings.

FYI: Saying your computer is MAXXED out on spec's doesn't mean much to people who don't own the computer. It would help a bit if you actually posted some spec's.

Im guessing that the poor old 3450 just can't keep up with the 1910x1200 resolution. Try reducing your resolution and i'm sure your framerate will pick up. The graphics card inside the machine just isn't designed for powering games at such high resolutions.

Get it to 1280x1024 and see if the FPS are better.

Drop the resolution, The ati radeon 3450 is only a low end 128 bit card which means that it will struggle to run at high resolution regardless of how low the quality settings are, Try running at 1280*1024 or lower.

Doesn't sound weird. If you have Vista, try setting the power scheme (or whatever it is called) to something like maximal perfomance. The menu where you can do this should be accessable by right clicking the battery icon in the system tray.

Notebooks very often lower the clock speed in order to increase battery time.

well playing with the adapter plugged in and the power option set to high performance the fps on wow has definitly increased. thanks everyone. but heres one more question. how will battlefield 2 play on my studio 15? bf2 is an old game so im guessin it should run good. i play counter strike source on my s15 and it runs perfect. so why shouldnt bf2 right?
