    studio 1535 & 1735 new video driver released 10/26

    FYI Dell released a new video driver for the studio laptops today.
    It said it increases compatibility with external monitors. I wouldn't know since I've never hookem mine up to an external. But I will dl just to stay up to date. You can find it here:

    If our current drivers work perfectly fine, should we bother downloading the new ones? Don't want to risk messing anything up when everything is working fine as is.

    the updated drivers are Catalyst 8.8. Most recent ones from ATI are 8.10.

    has anybody updated these new drivers? I tried last night, and it hung my computer up.. had to roll back to the old drivers...

    not sure if i did something wrong or what, but they wouldn't work...

    I had the same problem, I tried to re install it but no luck.

    I installed them just fine. Uninstall the old one, restart, install new one, restart.
    (Although I already had Catalyst 8.8 before I installed this "updated" dell one)

    I purchased the backlit keyboard for my dell 1735..we installed it and it doesn't work???Is there a thing I have to download or something?????

    1. No need to resurrect an old thread when your post is NOT related to the thread at all!

    2. Install Dell Quickset... Also, are you sure you have a backlit keyboard? It has a symbol on the right arrow key. As mine works outside of Windows even, but regardless Install Dell Quickset.
