what`s up everybody i just recently got a studio 1535 this is the set up T5800/2.0ghz, 320gb hhd, 4gig ram, windows home premium 64bit now i`m in the road of upgrading this baby i`m no rookie i been modding and upgrading lappys for a long time now u can see my acer`s rep but never really had a dell to play with but now i got this baby and i love the desing so i wanna keep it, now my question is should i clean install a copy of vista ultimate 64bit and loose the media direct wich i know i wont use but i also will loose the pc recovery feature and i would really like to keep it, or do i just leave the OS as it is? but i have a problem my 320 gig hhd its a 5,400 rpm and i already have a travelstar 320 7,200 that i would like to use in this lappy how can i backup into a dvd or a usb drive this partition so that i can later use it if need it? this are my future upgrades thinking of a T9300/2.5ghz or if you guys have any suggestions let me know, the 320/7,200rpm, dell 370 bluetooth, intel link 5300, backlit keyboard wich i alredy order, 4 gig OZ ddr2 already installed and thinking in a motherboar change cuz i found one for $99 that has a ATI HD 3450 so let me know what you think and if you guys have any suggestions that can help me with my problem

Get the ati hd 3450 its worth it and you can actually play games unlike the intergrated. Also Do a motherboard change, its really not that hard to do in this laptop.
Let us know what happens :)

Just use the restore DVD you will receive and make a fresh install.

maybe i was not clear the first time; i just got this lappy from a friend just the lappy and charger its new just been used a few days and i did the restore already once but i do not have any of the cd`s or manuals or anything else that come with them from factory thats why i need a way to backup the pc restore partition or if its better to just clean install a copy of VISTA ULTIMATE 64BIT and get the drivers and camera software from dell`s support

    well i found a T9400 2.53GHz for $150, a T9600 2.8GHz for $228 and T9800 2.93GHz for $315
maybe i should wait a few weeks more and get the T9800 or save some cash and get the T9600 what else is compatible with this board?
