hey guys, i have 4 partitions

    C:, d: (recovery), G: and H:

ive backed up the imp stuff on C: on my G and H drives,

do i need to backup my G and H drives to a external hdd too for a fresh install of win7 ? (iam just planning to format C: for win7 installation when the win7 installer asks for it)

As long as you don't mess up and format G and H as well, your data should be intact after the 7 install. It's always good to back up your data either way, though - just in case.

It's generally better to do a clean install.
