super excited!

So I ordered an Inspiron 2/3 days ago and that's ALL I talk about. I'll say something like "Guess what? I'm getting a new laptop, and it's PINK!!!"

Does anyone else do that? Or have done that. You're so excited you can't shut up about it.

haha...I have a 1520 and I was the same way but I said those things inside my head because I'm a guy and would probably get beat up if I said it out loud

I know exactly what you going through!! I just got my 1520 2 days ago and I couldn't be any more thrilled. I've bragged to all my friends and familly and most are uninterested or call me a dork! haha. But here, we are in good company!

 

Ditto, If my workmates hear me say 'guess what' one more time I think I'll be head down in the can before I can blink!

And it's also given my wife another excuse not to ....... as well. :-(

Although these days I don't get too worked up about new "stuff," there was a time when just the thought of a new motorcycle would make me crazy! I wish a new toy were able to make me feel that way again - I miss the excitement I know you feel. What gets me feeling good now is being able to provide that same feeling for my son and gf. Just yesterday evening, I gave my boy a new MacPro and a nice Apple monitor to go with it. He'll turn 21 in a few days and the new machine was an early birthday gift.

BTW, congrats to you. I hope that excitement you feel doesn't diminish for a long time.

I know for a fact when I'm getting or have gotten something new and shiny, I rub it in anyones face as much as possible until they envy me or hate me to the core.

I was at my friends house last night, and you know how Dell has an animation of the laptop at the top of the page, and you can click the arrows and see more info? I clicked through the WHOLE thing and read EVERY spec out loud. I was like "It EVEN has a place to plug in my ethernet cord." And being sarcastic she said "WOOOOOOOOWWWWW? Really?!?!?"

LMAO.

And OMG my boyfriend is like why'd you get PINK. I'm like because I'm a girl and I love pink, why not? And I did the whole run down with him too. He hates it.

But I let EVERYONE know that until I get it, I won't shut up. And even then, I'll STILL talk about it.

Quick question: I ordered a sleeve. When I called dell it says laptop in boxing stage, sleeve in pre-production... both with an 11/5/07 shipping date. Which do I go by? Do you think it will ship sooner than that since it's already gettign boxed?

 

yeah my guess is you'll get it soon. I ordered on a thursday and got mine on monday!! Much fast then expected. The sleeve is probably getting sent seperate which would explain the them being in 2 different stages.

 

I know just how you feel! When ever I get something new all I do is talk about it. Unfortunately it's usually something to do with computers and no one really knows(or cares) wth I'm talking about or how I could get so excited over the such things(Hunnie, check out my new liquid gpu cooler!! flipping sweet, right? :GEEK: ) anywho, I hope you enjoy your new lappie!

 

The date is an estimate. It will probably be delayed for another month or so...

The best part is opening up the box and having that new product smell!!!


ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... almost as good as a new car smell.

 

I just checked the status, it has been shipped and will probably reach Wednesday. It's getting shipped to my house. I have classes until Thursday, and don't live at home (in college) so I will probably wait the extra day to drive home. That being said, my little brothers will probably get to it first and open it and do a BUNCH of stuff to it to piss me off before I even see it. And I won't get the excitement of opening the box myself

Oh yeah... the laptop sleeve hasn't shipped yet. No biggie though. At least the laptop is on it's way!!!

 

IT'S OUT FOR DELIVERY! 3 extra days earlier than I GUESSTIMATED, and a day earlier than the tracking site said.

Now, the WAIT! Nothing worst than stalking your window looking for the "UPS man" (well, in my case, the DHL man).
