    Hi,
I just received my M1210 and after looking through the owners manual,I wanted to purchase the svideo composite adapter and s/pdif cable for connection to my TV.

But to my surprise Dell emailed me and told me that it was not possible as my order was already delivered. Btw there was no option for purchase of this adapter on the m1210 order options and I did order the A/V kit which only came with svideo cable and composite cables but no adapter or s/pdif cable.

Anyone here know how or where I could purchase the adapter?

    Thanks

Try looking under other models for the part. The cable for my I8000 from 2001 looks to be that exact cable, so I am pretty sure you can just order it from dell parts. Maybe he thought you meant the Tuner and not the TV out?

If I recall correctly I bought my svideo to composite adapter at the local Radioshack for under around $20. The cables you could get there as well for roughly the same or most likely less. They are universal cables and adapters, not specific to Dell, so you can buy them anywhere that sells audio/video cables and adapters. If you can wait I highly suggest finding them online at a discount, especially the svideo to composite adapter.

Sorry, but that's not very likely (i.e. impossible) as this is a Dell-specific part, only manufactured by dell...

Actually, if you don't need S/PDIF (digital audio) you could just use an s-video to composite adapter, which you will find at radio shack...

    Interesting ...

... while my M1710 won't arrive until Monday, on Dell's website I took a look at my system config. It says that an S-Video to Component - SP/DIF adapter is packaged (NOT composite). It's Part NG409

For me that's better, since I'm doing HDV (although I'll mostly use the DVI port). Anyway, it's SUPPOSED to come with mine.

You may want to check your invoice / packing list at support.dell.com
