Customer . You can see the configuration of my XPS 1530. Ordered 1st :xps 1530 Dec 9th got it on Dec 19th returned on 20th "damaged".
Then Ordered second Xps 1530 Dec21st. got it on Jan2nd. called dell to replace my WSXGA+ LCD "was grainy and dim" got my first replacement LCD Jan 9th. well they send me WXGA 800X1280 rather than WSXGA+ 1680x1050.
called them again Jan9th. send me another LCD got it Jan 14th . again they send me WXGA 800X1280 . even though I've spent 80 minutes on the phone and got them to send me the XK309 LG 1050X1680.

maybe you said 1050 x 1680 and not 1680 x 1050? So, they thought it is 1280 x 800? Just a guess...

I shouldn't have to say anything. they shouldn't ask me anything except my service tag number or order number to find my system configs.
when they send you a replacement. they will look at your configs and send you the part that you have on your system.
like I said I spent hours on the phone to get this right..he promised to send me the "XK309" it never even come close to the resolution of that part #.
if i have not seen my exchane order online I beleive I would got the wrong laptop again. syaing that, I don't think I will get it anyways. -
I made a request for the XK309, the tech entered it. Then later that night someone else cancelled and supposedly reentered the order for the Samsung, except that order was in some hold state, because they never even sent that. Later a tech said "It was cancelled because the customer is not allowed to request a specific part number." Nobody contacted me to let me know there was any problem, they just made changes and eventually canceled the order and I only found out because my "next day" service hadn't been done after 3 days.

Wow, I'd feel frustrated :S , Mind you the person you chatted to online seemed very nice and helpful. She also acknowledged that they made mistakes.

I am in the same situation as Sonicwind above. Nasty looking screen installed in my 1530, asked for the XK309 screen, first tech agreed to send it out, mysteriously canceled and replaced with an order for another Samsung screen. I spoken with six techs, 2 customer care reps, and 1 spare parts tech to try and get this resolved but no luck. Given this, some of the stories I have read about on site techs and their screen swapping abilities, I have made up my mind to send my notebook back. I'm not even sure if I want to get a replacement system. All this time and effort to fix these problems isn't worth the price I paid.

you guys are missing the point. the point is Dell is not getting it right, why anything has to be diffrent from my original configs. they have it . it is as easy as "copy, paste". the mention of Centrino. was just to tell the rep "see, you can't get it right"..
horizontal x vertical or vertical X horizontal or not at all. I was really upset and miss typed. this chat you are reading is one of many. and hours on the phone.
FYI. Even though the tech said that they will send second screen. I talked to them today and they said. NO. they will send me only the laptop with the right screen.
why should I believe that . I have no choice. I will see next week. I'm 100% sure it's not WSXGA+.
Please put your self in my place. what would you do? -

I just want to say I hope they will be able to change your minds in the future... I too ended up returning my m1530 as have many others on this forum. Maybe its too much to hope for, but I really liked the machine.. except for that damn screen

update........
Dell now is sending me "shipped' a laptop with the wrong screen. WXGA+. I should get it tomorrow. but there is no extra screen like they promised me. I just found out that there is another system in production for me with the correct configs including the WSXGA+ screen..
So I will have 4 laptops and 2 screen in 6 weeks.. this is a record. this should be a new thread.. -

I have problem adjusting to write from left to right. in my homeland lamguage we write right to left..
I do lots of this mistakes. just matter of time.

I got the crappy Samsung screen first. Next they sent a new laptop but with wrong resolution. The 3rd came today but with another Samsung. I decided to keep it, it is way better than the last one. Originally a tech was supposed to come and replace with the LG I called Dell about, then a mysterious shortage made it get canceled.

Having almost the same problem on my 3rd laptop should be here tomorrow. Hopefully after 5 weeks i will have a nice laptop. -

Sorry to hear that, but I'm not surprised really. I actually had an XPS 1530 on order, but quickly canceled it when I started reading about all of the problems with it.
