lol, ever since i sent my 1530 back this week, I've been having problems with my old 1000 laptop. This thing is so primitive. Installer 3.1 won't install so I can't update the zune player. It really doesn't matter because the screen is so blah that its hard to read anything. It's hard to imagine that I have been using this thing for 4 years lol ......I should have kept my 1530!!

Anyway, are there any 15.4 inch notebooks outside of the 1530 that would be worth looking into that's good for gaming? Mac Book pro is not an option......I don't like their operating system :D

Alienware has 15" w/ 8800GTX, but you know how they price one of those..

Gateways 17" w/ 8800GTS is only 1350 bucks, and reviews been decent. One w/ 1350 only comes w/ 1.6ghz cpu, and low res screen though.

Take a look at the Sager NP2090 from powernotebooks.com. It comes with the 8600M GT DDR3 and can have the OS of your choice (including none), and has a nice range of processor options.

To really know what to recommend, it would help to know why you sent back your XPS 1530 in the first place. If you want to stay with Dell I'd recommend the Vostro 1500 (seeing as you apparently didn't like the XPS 1530 for some reason).

Of course the ideal 15.4 inch gaming laptop is the Alienware mx15xx, with the 8800 GTX graphics card, but it's also rather expensive, and for good reason.

I actually had no problems with the 1530 except the low resolution. I got mine before they added the other resolution options. So I'm always open to re-order. However, after reading all these horror stories about grainy screens, I do not want to waste weeks sending back 1530s lol. So I'm just curious to see what other options are out there. I'm actually considering the m15x but I am not sure my wallet will reach for that 8800gtx, I might consider the 8700gt version but I don't know if that's worth it. I am trying to wait to see if they add more options to configure the one with the 8800gtx card. Oh, I can't deal with the low end screen from gateway not to mention that processor (2.2 would have to the minimum for me). I'll have to look into the sager. Thanks for the suggestions :)
