still waiting for your replacement laptop Zfactor?

I sent my Vostro 1500 to be repaired the same time you sent your laptop back. I heard horror stories about Dell repair...I just hope mine won't be one of them. My laptop will arrive tomorrow...I just hope all the problems was fixed. From what I know, the LCD and the keyboard was replaced.

I received my 1500 around the 15th....it has the 1440x900 screen, and it's a garbage grainy AUO. I called Dell tonight, and was able to get them to set up an in-house tech call to replace the screen (I have standard warranty). Will see how that goes in the next few days...

no they are sending me a whole new one then i can send back the other one so i had to wait for the new one to build then ship.. the screen i have the cpt is not bad just the backlight bleed is terrible i mean the whole maybe 1.5-2" of the bottom of the screen are really washed out and i just cant make that oart get black. no matter what i do the bottom is grey ... i hope for the lg or samsung imo.. or heck id take a chi mei after seeing one of the ones a freind got.. that one was awesome looking.. no grain and no bleed or barely at all.. GOD I JUST HOPE I DONT GET THE AUO...

I recieved my Vostro 1500 today with the 1440x990 screen.

Can confirm its AUO, theres a little bit of graininess, but i havent compared it to any other laptops yet, will decide then what to do.

I received my 1500 today. I did notice that it does have grain, quite noticeable. Not sure if I want to phone Dell or not. I have the base 1 year warranty. What's the likelihood of someone coming to replace my screen at home? And also, whats the chances of them having a better screen?

    BTW its a 1440x900 screen

My screen is the 1280x800 one, not sure what grainyness is but mine looks OK to me! How can I check the make?
