    a guys im having my lcd screen replaced tomoorow its got light leakage and also alot of wavyness in the screen.

    i want to know if im suppose to tip them iv heard alot of people tipping them and not tipping..umm just wanted to know what i should do? and also wats this iv heard about like giving them like 40$ and they willl upgrade your proccessor for you under the table or something??thanx

    They're doing their job. They don't get taxed on tips like waiters so why would you tip them?

    I doubt the tech will upgrade you for $40, where is he going to get the processor from?

    This never even crossed my mind while having a tech replace my Vostro's screen. Maybe I'm just cheap...

    No need to tip them, they are already paid for doing their job. I don't think they can upgrade other parts. The tech will only have the replacement for the damaged parts.

    If the guy/or gal does a good job and does not scratch up your machine slip him a five. Most of these guys are using their own car and are underpaid.

    don't be too pushy with that 40 bux lol...i doubt it's gonna work, since those processors are accounted for already...

    Keep in mind that even if they do that it won't be covered under the warranty probably. They can only warranty what they know they installed. If you have a processor upgrade done "under the table" then it probably won't be recorded in Dell's computers either and if an issue occurs later then you are SOL. Either you will have to pay for the replacement processor or downgrade back to the original since that is the only one they could send under warranty. On that note it may void out the processor portion of the warranty and any damages caused by that modification will not be covered either.
