hey i was just wondering if you are making monthly payments on your dell? i need to know what plan you sign up with and how you go about doing this. I tried finance services but they don't seem to have the right sort of answer to my questoin..

You will need to sign up for a Dell Preferred Account. It is besically a Dell credit card with a ludicrously high percentage rate. Put as little of the balance on the card as possible.
If you do use the card, there is a service that you can use through Dell Financial services call CheckFree that will automatically deduct the payment amount monthly. If you already have a DPA account, log into your Dell account, and look on the right hand column. There should be a link that says "mamnage my DFS account" or something similar. Have your account and routing number handy.
Enjoy.

can i make monthly payments w/o having to do that DFS thing? you know like you can on a phone bill or something..lol
-
Only way you can make payments is put it on a credit card or a Dell Preferred Account which is a dell credit card (but you don't actually get a card).
Just from clicking around dell I've found this info for you:
Minimum Monthly Payment - The greater of $15 or 3% of your account balance
Annual Percentage Rate (APR) (based on creditworthiness) - As of February 28, 2007, APRs range from 17.24% - 29.99%. Your rate will be disclosed upon approval.
The rate on a DPA is horrible. -
yikes..anyone know a credit card with a really good APR? lol
-
hey if I make around 200 dollar monthly payments and get it paid off before the end of the year (of course) do i have to pay APR on it?
-
you could try getting a bank loan with a lower interest maybe
-
yea..but is tehre any way i can pay around 200 on it a month so i don't have to owe interest for getting it paid off before the end of the year?
-
It's not calculated per year, they say APR so it's a nice number to work with rather then saying "Hey we'll charge you .049% daily". The only way you avoid finance charges is paying the balance off during the grace period after purchase.
-
i'm no financial expert though. -
Anual percentage rate..anual is yearly right? so if they are charging you annually(yearly) as far as interest goes..then wouldn't it work to get it paid off before the end of the year
-
You interest payment will be your balance*APR/12.
So for a $700 system with a 24% APR, your interest will be $700*.24/12=$14. -
kaosfury- for how many months would you be paying that extra 14?
-
Best thing to do would be find a credit card that can give you 0% apr for 6 months or a year. All I know is I wouldn't touch that DPF since you will be paying out of your ass for a while.

What does this have to do with vostro 1500 ?

If you have to buy it on credit, you can't afford it. Get something cheaper.
to everyone with a vostro 1500!
