The vast majority of laptops use CCFL backlighting. The only exceptions are a model or two made by sony, the m1330, the 15" MBP and several other lesser known models.

One of the other benefits of LED-backlighting is that it generally won't fade/dim over time nearly as much - if you take a look at a 3 or 4 year old laptop and compare it to when it is new, you'll notice it being noticeably dimmer, etc.

So people who buy XPSM1330's right now should still expect their screens to be pretty bright and vibrant for a much longer period.

Wow, I guess I would never need the LED backlight then. I dont keep my laptops for more then a year (sell a few weeks before warranty is up)

Well, that's not the only reason. You'll still get the benefits of it while using it (battery life savings, crisper more evenly lit screen, etc.).

And also, having the LED-backlit screen will probably help its resale value, so you'll probably get more back when you sell it. Especially as LED-backlighting becomes more common, and becomes an expected feature on laptops.
